I simply can't get it why Opera didn't implement this function in the browser. To be honest, this is the only deficiency, which prevents me to convert to Opera from Firefox.
I would like to have a built-in function which makes it possible to view my stored passwords, anytime I want.

I'm sure this is great. It will help everynow and then.
But this is the only reason why I hate opera, every browser I've used can show the encrypted remembered passwords in the 'remembered passwords' window.
Also, I have a site which just recently changed the login page, and now I can't use this tool to get the password which I've forgot.
Help?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is useless if the login page has changed, and there's no field to fill in that corresponds to a saved entry in the wand.
There seems to be no current Opera-side solution to this, so I have to revert to being reminded of my password by the server. I think it's time to ditch Opera, I'm sad to say.

your trying to tell us its just one little thing like the wand stopping you from using Opera, come on Opera is by far a better browser than anything else out there,i agree its not perfect but neither is anything else.

More funny is that a Firefox (where nothing is implemented by default) user is complaining something is not implemented in Opera... :)

Why don't you all get smart and switch to Internet Explorer 7? You wouldn't have all these problems!

@ PooDoo Pfft, why don't you get smart and not post stupid comments like that.

I gave Google Chrome a try and found that you could revile you password in plain text with a push of a button. How safe is it?
I also like the way Windows Xp deals with this problem in a very simple way just by adding the possibility to add a personal reminder.
Say that you entered "MonkeyWrench" as a password, you could then add "MonkeyTool" (too obvious)or "Wrench" if you just love monkeys.
How about adding this to Opera 10?

my wand doesn't automatically put in passwords. Or, occasionally when it does, it will not remember two entries for one page, eg, username and password.
So I have to have Firefox for when I'm going on sites that require passwords, unless i type them on by hand. It sure puts me off Opera, which otherwise I find far faster and efficient than the others.
Is this a common bug?

It would be great if someone, with real knowledge and that could offer some solution based advice, would consider this issue.

I've used IE7, IE8, firefox, opera, Safari, and a few others as i deal with a lot ao websites. ! thing I can say which I always find myself reverting back to is IE* which I now use. Every other browser has a problem or an excuse as to why it doesn't work right and it's never their fault.
IE8 is by far the best browser ever and can be customized to suit you. It doesn't refuse anything and I have nevr had an issue with it, IE7 was good also.
What I found with users of these other browsers is the only reasons they use them is because they like it simple and IE is to complicated for them to use. And they Then have the nerve to call themselves webmasters or computer geeks.
Get real, if you where really one of those you would see that it dosen't matter what other browser you use you always need to have IE to support what it can't do and yet you fools find these better to use..
I guess that's what you call a simple fool.
Lokk at what really is and stop with these crazy ideas about other browsers being better than IE.

Yep, Opera still sucks in this area. Amazing they haven't learned to do this right yet.
Anonymous # 4. August 2009, 08:45
This is a particularly poor area for Opera and something that Jon and co need to look at. As pointed out earlier, if the URL for the login changes slightly (I have one gone from http to https), you are stuffed:
- you can't edit the address
- IF I hadn't stored all my passwords somewhere else, I'd be stuffed and as it is, I still have the inconvenience of typing them in again.
