The bridge

As the dust settles and the water landed once again, we learned it was a preventable accident. A score of 50 out of 120 possible points on an inspection test should have been enough for probable concern to at the least limit traffic of the bridge. This horrendous tragedy shows one of Americans' most dominant traits these days; we absolutely hate to spend money but absolutely love to make it. By not closing this bridge for repairs or to build a new one, the officials who control the bridge were holding the money for a "rainy day." This country is in a state of disrepair, with more than enough money to fix it, yet it is not fixed. There is by no way, any reason this should have happened, especially when it was preventable. Now many families, and many friends are grieving and worrying over their loved ones. What more do the citizens of this country have to give to wake up politicians to get the ball rolling; in order to perform the major overhaul this country's buildings so desperately need. If buildings built in ancient Greece, can still exist many many centuries later, I think we can build a bridge that lasts more than around 40 years, then maybe the people in charge can sit back and collect interests on the money they've just saved.
