Most people are concerned about what others think of them; always seeking their attention, approval and opinion. Why? Because most want to fit in and would change even their characters just to blend in.
Why impress someone? Why not express yourself? Why live a lie? Knowing that the truth has so much to offer, one tries to avoid the truth at all times.
I was so impressed about my fellow countrymen who have been labelled 'coloured'. They are brown people! Not coloured but brown, finish en klaar! Amazed by their pride and sense of identity, I realised that noone needs to be in that position. So everything being forced down our throats and our potential limited! Well, I guess there were a lot of cowards with higher ego then.
Thank GOD some of the lost tribes are finding their way home. It sucks to grow up without knowing where you come from, can't relate to your own history. Sad, very sad.
What I learnt from the Khoi people is never to be labelled. There is an old African saying, "It is not what you call me. It is what I respond to, that matters to me."
