At least with letters you had the satisfaction of tearing them up into little bits and then throwing them into the dustbin - now all you get to do is press that delete button. Not nearly as satisfying!
Why do people feel this almost frantic desire to send you these things? Do they REALLY believe that something awful (or at least more awful than normal awful!) is going to happen to them if they don't pass them on?
No idea - just stop sending them to ME!

I found a way to get the satisfactin you are missing.
1. Print out the spams
2. On each day of the year tear up 1
3. Failing the above 2 go to my forum "Just released Applications - Hi'ly Unlikely v1.0" and buy the last program.

If you don't mind me interrupting on my own blog:) I had no problems with my connection yesterday. When I have problems I just reboot. I love it that you can close uour browser, reboot and open the broser again with the last session saved like you never left.
I have to come up with a program that allows you to crash your computer on a schedule and not be able to get back to anything. (Not to rack your brains) it's all part of my forum "Hi'ly Unlikely"
bye I'm going to crash my other computer.

I thought I was on my own page...How'd you do that?
What's a blog anyway?
I think it's mirrors.
So sorry again and hope you don't mind me backing out of here while covering my head.

The Opera Community is currently experiencing technical difficulties. We apologize for the downtime and aim to be up and running again as soon as possible.
Until then, we suggest visiting Opera.com.

Wouldn't mind so much but it's been doing this for the last 15 hours or so!
I DON'T WANT TO VISIT OPERA.COM ANYMORE!

It seems as though the last Pure race of the planet had died. It might have been the last pure Maori but a tragic loss in any case. I remember her as being 111 years old. It may have only been a 30 second news story but it made a lasting impression on me.

I think it's sad when ever extinctions take place. I am going to start a memorial fund on my Blog in case The Great Alien can not find her way home. Lost in the wilderness of cyberland, cold, wet and hungry she is fighting with the strength of Hurcules to rejoin us.
Come home soon The Great Alien, we are all hungry and you forgot to make dinner!
OH! Welcome BacK!

and NO TogaOga - I am still getting that same stupid message when I try and access my page! Despite the email to Admin, being away for a week and asking for help on the forums! In fact, I am very disappointed with the lack of response I've had from Opera to my problem to be honest

Sure you may clone TGA and it mat look like her. It may sound like her and we might love her clone as we have loved TGA, but it will never be the same.
I remember back in 71 when I came home with my "Tandy Model 1". I didn't go to work for three days. My wife only saw the back of my head for three days as she brought me coffee both day and night. On the third day with impeccable timing she entered the room with my coffee just in time to see me jump up and shout, "I've finally found someone who understands me". (words I came to regret) I had created my first computer graphic. I had to create it by programming each pixel on the screen to replicate an American flay with tiny stick figures at the bottom that jumped up and down. Exhausted and weary I went to bed for the first time in three days.
When I awoke I ran to my computer only to see a blank screen. I called my wife and asked if she had turned it off. That's when I found out that we had a 30 min. power outage while I slept leaving my computer defenseless. She on seeing my sadness asked, "can't you do it again". I answered in all honesty, "Yes" but it would never be the first, it would only look like the first. I don't think she ever understood.
You see TGA, we are in a battle, a real fight. There are forces that we can not see that seek to shake our very faith. TGA, close your eyes and dream with me...do you see what I see. Look there in the middle of your imagination...can you see him...do you see him...standing in his flawless tuxedo with his white bow tie...yes it is Michael Buffer with a microphone at his lips. Keep your eyes closed and let's listen.
"Ladies and gentlemen...Let's G e t R e a d y t o R U M B L E. In the red corner wearing red shorts with the red stripe, having fought one hell of a fight his last time out...The Great Impostor, Lucifer...and in the Blue corner wearing the all white trunks, having only been to the canvas once by virtue of a right cross, he is undefeated, he arose to remain the champion of champion...I give you GOD".
TGA, did you feel it? Are you prepared to give up the battle so soon? There is in fact a real battle going on. I am in your corner and at your call to save your avatar and true persona. It's like that last lug...you remove 4 lugs to change the tire and the last one snaps off. It's like that last tooth pick on your creation, then down it falls. There are indeed forces that toy with our minds. Please do not throw in the towel just yet...in the world of cyberland all is not lost. It would truly sadden my heart. I stand ready to petition the "Opera Stars" on your behalf if needed. I am ready to download your entire existance to be able to email it to you if needed. Somewhere looking from the summit of that mountain I see a place for you but it is not yet the time.
To all forgive me for taking up so much space but I really feel this deep to my bones.

Who's your ISP? Are there any other users with the same ISP that can see your page?
Which version of Linux are you using?
Valiusvalius324 # Thursday, December 13, 2007 10:37:22 AM
I also have Netzero on a 56k modem but seldom use it.
Other users? I would have no idea. Is there a problem reading my screens? Your question brings up the natural response of why would someone ask that.
I do not use Linux on this machine but on another I use RedHat do not have vN.N available just now. I have XP and 98 (Chicago) on this machine but prefer and use 98.
Now for the real task at hand...helping TGA. Yes I am more than aware that her problem is local. Without having access to her computer it is difficult to speculate. If I did have to guess I would bank on a memory recovery problem. Then secondly I would suspect a glitch has developed in one of her installations.
You sound like you might be knowledgeable so If you have any ideas, now is the time.
Appreciate your contact and would appreciate even more a reply to the gist of this response.

But i don't know Linux, and i'm not a network guy
Valiusvalius324 # Thursday, December 13, 2007 6:00:13 PM
I've wanted to make some suggestions to her about re-installing but I don't know her expertise and was afraid to have her mess up.
I sommetimes just wipe out and reformat my drives but then again I keep a backup of everything on CDs.
I sure hope one of us can help her. Maybe she can try different browsers. Just to see if the problem is "exactly" the same.
Thanks

I am happy to agree that my ISP may well be at fault - this would be a fairly normal assumption and I am used to doing battle with them. Unfortunately I am not at all computer literate and, stuck in Zambia as I am at the moment, I have decided to put this battle on hold until January when the first born Minor Alien son can sort it all out - probably in just a few minutes?
Since I can still access everything else I will soldier on, laptop in hand and a brave smile on my face! Thank you all so much for being so concerned and trying to help - I really do appreciate it in the midst of my stress and grumpiness
Thank you!
