FreeBSD 7.0 Released!

The developers of the FreeBSD project have released Version 7.0 of this free operating system. Besides the obligatory correction of errors and the updating of the package, this free spin-off from Unix incorporates many improvements and new functions. This release doesn't just replace Version 6.3, which came out only recently, but opens up a new approach that makes major changes. The old 6.x line will continue to be maintained and supplemented, because big changes aren't necessarily desirable on a professionally operated server, and server operators will need time to test the new functions and options. Official support for the 5.x series that was released for productive use in late 2004 will, however, end in May this year.
