The meaning behind words you don't understand

Many of them are easy to remember. But not so many of them are easy to understand. What's the meaning behind those confusing verses? What load do they carry? And in the end of the day - what do those things really mean to you - does it really matter what they meant to the one that wrote them?
For me - it's easy enough now, I agree with what Serj Tankian answered in one of the interviews about his solo album: Roughy - What does it matter what the songs meant for me - it only matters what they mean to you. And yes, if fact many things I've listened until I destroyed the CD are things that have only carried a specific meaning to me, at that specific moment. The most emotionally engaged tracks I've ever listened have always been important and meaningful to me, whenever I wanted to hear them. Korn, SOAD, Serj, Sandra Nasic, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Rammstein and numerous, countless others. All of them have carried a fantastic load when you listen to them at the right time. But then again - you always listen to that kind of things at the right time, don't you?
And there - I'm spinning now Sandra's 'Fever', finding meaning in the songs, relating only to my life.
Do you?
