happyness, life, addiction, emotion
It was the highlight of the summer. Being waken up early in the morning, by crazy, screaming strangers. You would think it couldn't happen to you every day for weeks and weeks in a row. And then it does and you realize you're so drunk still that you can't crawl out of god-damned tent/bed/gutter to take a piss. But it won't go away, so what do you do - you foolishly stumble out, look at the world as if you can disintegrate anything just by looking at it. And you keep going.
Coffee, or beer, or whatever really, just don't forget to hydrate and it'll all be cool, right? And then there's another poor, unfortunate soul who, just like you, has arisen with a gravely look on its face. Boom! You give them the coffee and there it is - instant happiness. Or should I call it properly - instant craziness. Because no normal person keeps going on like that day after day, powering himself from the inexhaustable power supply that only kids have. Always running, constantly smiling, ever-curious, a perpetum mobile of fun and seeming madness.
And you can't stop laughing, even for a second or you'll pass out and it'll all end in the usual boring way - sleeping, while you should have been screaming. It's said that one minute of healthy laughter is enough to compensate for one hour of sleep. If that is the case, I am not going to be sleeping like a human being any time soon now. You know you've had fun when you actually see the muscules involved in laughing to tighten over time and your belly looks like you've been punching it for weeks, so it's always tense.
And you can't do that alone, of course, because then there's a real chance of you just ending up with only the voices in your head. And of course, they're all idiots or at the very best - comedians. And if you've got one more, you can share the load, or together be both at the same time. And then people wish you the best wish ever - to remain so crazy happy and smiley forever. And you know it's true, it's addictive and infectious, you make everyone else smile along and you make their day. And you are the tinders, the fucking firestarters even - you set the bars and dancefloors ablaze, people moving, jumping, dancing, screaming. And they laugh and they cry, while you sit there in the blazing fury you've made out of your world, like avatars of everything that is good and out of control, combined together into your unstoppable entities. And then then it all ends, you exhale, exhale, exhale, thinking - oh my god, what on earth did we just go on and do, again. And you think you've earned some rest.
But no. Wake UP! COFFEE!

life, air, travel
Maybe it's not important why things happen, maybe it's pointless to try to figure it out. For one, why waste the time to dwell on things, when you can use it to do a lot more than stay idle?
Opportunities are everywhere, you don't even need to look for them. What is around the corner doesn't need planning, the smiling people that you meet, that wild night at the club, the cozy quiet evening, the walk in the sun. They're all there, all yours, all just a few minutes of trip away. When a chance appears - go, just go on and take it. You never know what you'll find for yourself. Why bother trying to guess?
It's amazing what you can do in a three-hour trip, rides included. Who knew one could end up seeing a Salvador Dali exhibition, drinking heated wine and eating local delicacies? Instead of that, I could just idly sit my lazy ass at Prague's airport and watch the people pass as the time goes by. I really could, it would be dead easy. Just as easy as grabbing a quick ride downtown and walking among the people. The people that totally freaked out by seeing a shady stranger to wander on their streets, dressed like it was summertime. People in their coats, scarves and hats, not understanding, thinking the stranger is some sort of a total nut-job tourist. Most probably I am, but then - that's where all the fun is.
It is indeed amazing what you can do in 3 hours. You can reflect on the week past and think ahead about the days to come. You can clean your mind from all the load of the previous days, the chaos, the fun, the new people, the old friends, the culture shock, the alcohol haze, the sunny morning, the nagging feeling that you forgot something and, finally, the absolutely devastating feeling that you really, really, don't want to go to work again tomorrow. Stupid tomorrows.
It is absolutely astonishing what you can do in 3 hours. You can even sit down, take two great beers and write this short tale of joy and glory.
Try it out.

life, characters, people, thoughts
Inspired by The Characters of Theophrastus, an ageless book about the social (mis)behavior of people, I'm trying to put here my own thoughts and observations on the different types of people that would gather in a social event. It can be just a chat, dinner or an entertainment gethering, generally described as "party". Even in this limited scope, I believe there's a lot of Characters to be described and you'll easily recognise one of your friends in them. Unlike the Characters of Theophrastus, there will be positive descriptions as well. It's easy and convenient to focus on the negative ones, I hope I'll be able to have enough good descriptions to compensate.

life, music, Bulgaria, happyness
...
Yes, we are going back to the jungle, head-first and at high speed. And it's the right type of Jungle - Jungle as in music, as in D&B not as in forests, heat and tropical disease.
It's a disease of the mind, it's raw and dynamic, it's uplifting and devastating, it is the mood of power. And it's back, from the good old days. It's not like it ever really went away, it just kind of went on a more urban underground scene. And along with the powerful British Jungle beats came along a few new strong moods from the East - Ukraine, Serbia, Bulgaria and Macedonia. And along with bassdrive.com my playlist started having hmsu.org, at first, and recently eilo.org's new D&B channel.
And I realized I shouldn't be missing out on things so bad, although I never stopped showing up at good D&B events, not in Thessaloniki, not in Oslo, not in Sofia. There's always someone to drag me there. And drag me they did - to a true legend - Rony Size in the Hristo Botev hall, Sofia. It was a month ago but I still remember how we barely walked out of there that night. Easily 1500-2000 people, maybe more, maybe less and at the end we were almost begging to stop. The mood in that place is great, I love the stage in my home country. I've been at awesome places, great parties, amazing people, but nothing can beat the amassed mood of a Bulgarian crowd, ready for a party. That and the amazing Rony Size and Dynamite MC. Yes, wellcome to Sofia.
And you can't stop, and you can't stop, and you can't stop.
Jungle is massive! Hahahaha
/me is teasing his eardrums with the wicked sounds of the crazy Noisia

thoughts, Games, addiction, read more post

There are just a few *very* good games ever made. It's not the most popular ones, not the most visually impressive ones, not the most technically advanced ones. For me the games that are truly good are the ones that manage to capture your mind and lock it in a word where it really wants to exist. A digital fantasy - abstraction, imaginative. Not a representation of the real world. A game is a combination of arts and crafts that manages to acheive what a single one cannot - sink you into a world powered and fed by your imagination. Your imagination, not that of others, because without your desire there, no external effort would help.
The *very* good games out there combine artistic creativity with brilliant technical execution to create your virtual reality that sinks you into your addiction to this virtual world. No matter what the genre of the game is, without your imagination engaging you deeply within this fantastic universe, it just won't work. The ones that manage to achieve this combine the power of all senses to provide you with that experience.
Deep, detailed environments, moody music, elements planned and layed out carefully. Engaging, captivating and intriguing stories, charming characters, ruthless villains and amounts of content that will etch in your brain for a long time. Very rarely a game has achieved splendour without a good mix of all of these, creating an environment that lets you submerge your mind in.
