Well,
the family computer bit the dust
the motherboard died with a loud pop, not content to die alone it took a secondary hard drive with it. Over 60 gigs of music *sob* and numerous pictures. Luckily I had all the pictures backed up to an offline service. Yay! Mozy. Of course the kids were going nuts, they had to go outside and play for more than a couple of hours now. My wife was giving me the business because she hates playing Star Wars Galactic battlegrounds on my computer.
So, Now we have a new Dual core x64 with 3 gigs of RAM and a 320g hard drive...Sweet this totally blows away my venerable single core 1.8 cpu and pci-e to boot.
Now I am spending my late night time re-ripping my music, something like 1500 cds, this time I will go for a higher bit rate, and then copy it to another hard drive and remove it. Ya'know backup.
I got Vista with the new computer, but I still have'nt installed it on my laptop, still using the ol' XP.
Of course take that with a grain of salt, I spend most of my time on openSuse.
Shout out to the guys at Opera, it totally blows Firefox away on Linux.
