And I have to say that Theresa helps people in Namibia. You have to see her other blog dedicated to that here:

TheResa75 17. May 2009, 11:14

Thanks Claude! :D

holdowicz-claude 17. May 2009, 11:50

No no, that's great to know that this chain can be more than words or songs
Could you explain how your work is organized? How many people work like you? please!

TheResa75 17. May 2009, 14:22

Well, we're a very small foundation.
It started with n'Kwazi Lodge that supported the village (Mayana) next to them.
By coincidence some Germans got into the project and they started the Mayana Mpora Foundation together.
In 2004 I came to n'Kwazi Lodge on a trip through southern Africa, saw some of the projects and asked if I could come back and help.
There are some tourists who come in their holidays and work in the projects for a few days or weeks.
In 2007 I was the first long term volunteer (for 10 months), but when my time came to an end, we noticed that there were now so many things to organise, they'd need another full-time volunteer to cover all the work. So we got someone through the ded (German Development Service), but she's also leaving soon now.
But somehow it always goes on - that's Africa, things tend to work out somehow.
In 2 weeks a lady is going to visit me who has been to n'Kwazi and also wants to do some volunteering for 6 weeks or so.
Anybody who's interested can contact Valerie (the owner of n'Kwazi) and ask if he/she can work there. There's no payment, but they do offer food and lodging (which I found awkward, I wanted to pay a little bit, at least for the food I ate).
So, yes, there are lots more people like me.
I also met several other volunteers - Namibia seems to be full of them, they come with the Peace Corps, the Red Cross, the ded and many more NGOs.
I like our Foundation because it's not a big apparatus that wastes money in infrastructure - I payed for my car myself, for the flight and so on. So the donations go directly to the people.

holdowicz-claude 17. May 2009, 16:06

Thank you for all of that  You said the right words, because I was a little afraid of some big apparatus as you said
So, I hope that you will find soon some sponsors. Is n'Kwazi have his website?

TheResa75 17. May 2009, 17:05

Yes, there's a link from my theresainnamibia page, I think it's
www.nkwazi-communitytrails.com

and now for something completely different: Do you live near Grenoble? We just had a crazy trip to southern France, in one night from our place (near Cologne) down to Niece and then a bit more slowly back, but we had only 4 days.
So we went past your place?

Villain 17. May 2009, 17:40

Grand, congratz, that's what I think is the actual working for peace.
Respect, girl  Total respect  I admire people like that because I wouldn't be able to do something like that by myself. So - my respect

TheResa75 17. May 2009, 19:32

Thank you, Mona!
I've always wanted to do something like that, so for at least 50% it was a very selfish thing.

Villain 17. May 2009, 19:39

But still, if people were half as selfish as you, the actual peace could have more chances

TheResa75 17. May 2009, 19:42

Cheers!

holdowicz-claude 17. May 2009, 19:54

Yes your link is good, there's even a French version
http://nkwazi-communitytrails.com/
I was born in Grenoble, I love the Alps. But now I'm living near Aix-en-Provence.

holdowicz-claude 5. June 2009, 11:33

Theresa if you want, you can now add the heart Peace dove in the right bottom of your blog. Have a look on my updated Peace chain post for the explaination, please

You can use my picture also for your namibia blog of course!

TheResa75 5. June 2009, 15:06

Will do so, thank you Claude!
By the way, my husband and I are going to Namibia again this summer!
Currently we're looking for donations :D

holdowicz-claude 5. June 2009, 15:24

That's great, I hope the best for your summer there
For donations at this time, I can't. Because I have started my own work as freelance since 3 months, and I have only got 300 euros until now :ko: I need more customers very quickly :wizard:

TheResa75 5. June 2009, 15:58

No problem!
I hope your business gets lots of customers soon!

holdowicz-claude 5. June 2009, 16:29

 Thanks, that's very kind.

uenzem 15. June 2009, 08:05

There can be no meaningful development without Peace. You are doing a good work.

TheResa75 15. June 2009, 12:28

Thank you very much!

holdowicz-claude 26. June 2009, 13:10

Theresa, I guess you are now in Namibia. I wish you all the best to your projects there :wizard:
Also, the Peace chain is now lauched on WordPress (in French):
http://claudeholdowicz.wordpress.com/2009/06/05/une-chaine-pour-la-paix-dans-le-monde/ :hat:

TheResa75 26. June 2009, 13:25

Great, Claude!
Any response yet?
BTW, I'm stiil in Germany - today we had a "sponsor run" i.e. my pupils jogged and were sponsored for that, so I can take some donations with me to Namibia :D
Thank you!

holdowicz-claude 26. June 2009, 13:40

That's great Theresa  I'm glad for the Namibia children. You know what? If you have the chance to have a musician in your staff, you can make a choir with the children. The songs can touch the hearts. Have a look on this choir here:
http://www.ocyc.co.uk/media.html

TheResa75 26. June 2009, 13:51

In fact, the first project was singing and dancing for the tourists, and the money they paid went directly to the artists.
Every time tourists visit a school the children sing - they do know about the effect
And it works! It touched me so deeply that I keep coming back

holdowicz-claude 26. June 2009, 14:36

  But does someone filmed those songs? If yes can we find the videos on Youtube for example?

TheResa75 26. June 2009, 15:03

Found some!
Look at my new post! :D

holdowicz-claude 2. July 2009, 09:13

Thanks for the video, charming!
Anna just joined us in the Peace chain :hat:
http://my.opera.com/norskblu/blog/2009/07/01/chain-of-peace

TheResa75 2. July 2009, 15:24

Ok, great! :D

holdowicz-claude 2. July 2009, 15:29

You know, if the peace chain will be very big  you also and your help for Namibia will be known :wizard:

TheResa75 2. July 2009, 18:03

That's right! Maybe there will be more people like Glyn, who get the idea of helping physically

holdowicz-claude 2. July 2009, 20:48

Why not me, when I will have some money

TheResa75 3. July 2009, 07:49

Didn't want to put pressure on you
How's your business going, anyway? :coffee:

holdowicz-claude 3. July 2009, 09:17

My business is going to grow but slowly, also I have to get healthy for that. Now the only thing that pleases to me is the Peace chain. That gives sens to my life and some strengh for my work
Some years ago I have tried to enter in an organization for help people in Indonesia during the Khmers war. It was the priest of the church in Aix-en-Provence who known that organization and with his help I have contacted the organization. But I have never get an anwser. The priest after some months, told me that all the organization has been destroyed by the red Khmers. Poor people and poor me if I was aked to join them a few months early.

TheResa75 3. July 2009, 10:45

Oh! That was a close shave then. It might sound selfish, but you were really lucky that they didn't answer you...
Are you not healthy? Hope you get well soon!

holdowicz-claude 3. July 2009, 10:54

Just a backache since more than 10 years, I can't stand up more than 2 hours and can't sleep all the night  I was a carpenter before that  Don't worry, it will go better!

TheResa75 3. July 2009, 10:59

Oh shit! I also have a bad back, have you tried aqua gym? I'm in a group and it's the best sport I've ever done. I once went there with an aching back and went home without :D

holdowicz-claude 3. July 2009, 15:51

That's nice to know, but I can't go under water sine my right ear-drum is broken. I have to go to hospital for it this winter.
Have a nice day, I go out

holdowicz-claude 8. September 2009, 11:42
