With big dolefulness I have read the mail from Trish Millet as Music Director at KCEA.org . She told me that the great and big hearted Mike Thompson is gone at April 6, 2008 in an age of 73 years. There is also a message at the Almanac of Atherton, Menlo Park, Bay Area, where KCEA is seated. They write:
BTW: They have found me throu an old conversation in messenger. I blogged about earlier. I was very pleased, that Mike Thompson played a song for me an named it explicitely in the radio. Great thanks again.

Mit großer Trauer las ich die E-Mail von Trisha Millet in ihrer Eigenschaft als Music Director bei KCEA.org . Sie erzählte mir, daß der großartige und großherzige Mike Thompson am 6. April 2008 im Alter von 73 Jahren gestorben ist. Es befindet sich auch eine Nachricht auf der Seite des Almanac of Atherton, Menlo Park, Bay Area, wo KCEA zu Hause ist.
Übrigens haben sie mich gefunden über einen alten Chat im Messenger. Ich bloggte über KCEA in der Vergangenheit. Ich war sehr erfreut, als Mike Thompson für mich einen Musikwunsch spielte. Vielen Dank noch einmal.
KCEA plant eine On-Air Ehrung. Jeder Interessierte ist eingeladen daran teilzunehmen über Telefon (in Deutschland wohl eher weniger), Instant Messaging und E-Mail.
Wenn Grenzen nur immer so verbindend wären ..

KCEA's longtime radio host Mike Thompson dies at 73
Mike Thompson, the longtime on-air host of big band and swing music on the local KCEA (89.1 FM), died unexpectedly Sunday, according to the station's general manager, Michael Isaacs.
Mr. Thompson, who hosted programs on Friday night and Saturday afternoon and an annual New Year's Eve broadcast, was 73. His last broadcast was a week ago last Friday, Mr. Isaacs said.
The commercial-free station, which has been on the air for 28 years, is owned by the Sequoia Union High School District and has studios at Menlo-Atherton High School.
