Get Off the D*** Phone!

, ,

Before cell phones appeared on this planet, women constantly being on the phone was both a joke and very true. Fathers with daughters would often complain about how long they stayed on the phone. "GET OFF THE PHONE!"

Well, today...the same is true, but with cell phones. I drive a taxi 6 days a week. You would not believe how many women drivers I see driving and at the same time--talking on their cell phones. I have been rear-ended by a woman whose was on her cell phone, and she admitted to me at the scene of the accident that she was on her phone and didn't see me stopped ahead of her.

A very good friend of mine, also a cab driver, was recently broadsided by a woman who ran a red light while she was on her cell phone. Luckily my friend was not hurt.

It seems a vast number of women CANNOT OPERATE A VEHICLE without talking on their phones at the same time. I have seen a woman get into her car in a parking space and before she was even OUT of the parking space she was already on her phone.

Another woman was trying to park a big pickup truck in a shopping mall parking space and had trouble getting the truck in the space...all the while she was on her cell phone and using one hand to park. Put down the phone and use both hands? You have GOT to be KIDDING!

Women driving 60-70 mph on the freeways...busy freeways...and trying to maneuver through traffic while yakety-yakking on cell phones. Women trying to drive with one hand. Many women can't drive with TWO hands, much less with one!

You think I am too harsh on women? I recently had two Prudential insurance agents in my cab, and they told me insurance statistics show that women are a much higher risk to insure, because they have more accidents (crashes, I call them), and more tickets than men. And in that group of women, the worst--the riskiest--the most dangerous women drivers are under age 30. So--there you have it. From insurance agents with access to national insurance statistics.

What the heck is wrong with you women? Why can't you stay off the d*** phone and pay attention to your driving?

Good God Almighty! Save your petty chit-chat for later! You are aiming a deadly weapon. Yes--aiming. A motor vehicle is a deadly weapon. It can cause such incredible damage, injury and years of lawyers, insurance companies, courts, money, pain, suffering...you name it.
