Yes we did all go to Oslo Norway in June. We had a wonderful visit with my stepdaughter and her son. We walked through Vigeland park with all its sculptures. That was a fantastic day, it was hot and sunny and the younger boys had so much fun running around. They hadn´t seen each other for months. My older son had so much fun taking photos, he has developed an interest in photography.
Later we walked on the roof of the opera house it is a fantastic building and the view from the roof is magnificent (I prefer older buildings but this was fun).
One day we went to TusenFryd amusement park with all those rides needless to say all the kids enjoyed themselves and so did we old people Other days were spent walking around Oslo and the malls. Not much shopping done though, with the economy the way it is Oslo is expensive for us Icelanders.

Today is my birthday. I have had a wonderful day, I went to a retreat with my friend and next door neighbour, she had been told a secret and was supposed to keep me there until 3 or 4 in the afternoon. When we got to the retreat everyone sang the birthday song for me and I got a lovely bunch of white roses. When I got home at a little past 3 many people waited for me and I got another birthday song as soon as I got inside my door. Then I got fantastic presents and more flowers. In the kitchen there was waiting for me coffee and cakes. My daughter had organized all this and had prepared the cakes in my friends home so that I would not suspect. It was a fantastic surprise and I had a great day.

I am on a roll now.. I made three new albums with my craft things. They are named; basket weaving, my knitting and SAL and RR. Enjoy looking trough them. Will be adding to those.

Oh, well. I am sorry but I quite forgot about my blog..
The year 2009 has been rather slow with the financial crises all over the world. My family (parents + 3 kids ) did go to London though in the beginning of September. My stepdaughter had moved there in July and we wanted to visit her and her son. We had so much fun and behaved like true tourists. We went on a bus tour to see the sights in London, that was a fun adventure, we got on the wrong bus and got kicked off (very kindly and just in fun) got directed to the right tour by a very nice and friendly man and he did advise us what best to do with our time. We took a ride with the London Eye, I am afraid of heights but I did not feel any fear all the time it was to slow so one hardly noticed until on the top. Magnificent view. We travelled to Windsor to visit Legoland, I love this little town, it has Windsor castle going right into the town near the train station. This is a place I would love to visit and explore the town a little better. We also got to visit London Zoo, it was to hot that day so the animals hardly moved from the heat but we loved the zoo. It was great to see my stepdaughter and her son again, I really miss them alot. She is doing extremely well in her job and my grandson also in his school, at only 6 he is speaking English like a native now.

I am so sorry for not blogging sooner, I have had health problems since the end of November 2008. I have not been able to sit down and stitch at all during this time. Things are looking better now and hopefully I will be able to stitch all the things I want to start this year. That would be the Victoria Sampler Silk Wysteria sampler, Oakhaven Designs month sal, the ASAW (a stitch a week ) sal and many more.. Yes in my mind I am busy busy busy but ..... it does not get to my fingers
This Christmas I got 8 envelopes from my friends on the 123 stitch message board. They put up a Christmas wish list for every Christmas and this year I wished for GAST and/or WDW overdyed thread and 8 women were kind enough to send me. I also got a whole lot of buttons from my friend Evalina in Canada, and included in her parcel was some stash from her friend in USA, some aida, kits and chartsand DMC floss. Oh my, how kind my fellow stitchers are.
