Opera China Edition Revealed (IBIS)
Monday, 22. December 2008, 11:06:25
The big thing I've been working on recently, is called, Opera China Edition that basically includes: Opera Desktop China Edition(codenamed "Ibis"), China-server based Opera Mini, and the new Chinese Opera Community, www.operachina.com. As part of Opera's localization effort, we've spent months of engineering efforts on enhancing local browsing experiences.
And now, it comes out

What's Special?
Without mentioning that we've fixed dozens of popular site compitibility issues and the local Mini server that really helps local Chinese people, let's see what is different between IBIS and the generic Opera Desktop 9.63 (int or eng).
- UI Redisign, China-style look and feel. In general, more coolness.
- Designed with interaction in mind. You could hover your cursor on a speeddial entry and see the difference. If you want, tinker more with skin.ini and you could get more dazzling effects.
- Double Click to close a tab. This default-on feature is Opera's answer to the No.1 feature request from China Community.

- Drag-and-Drop a link up-or-down to open in background tab. More tab control options.
- build number: 10482. (Say, the larger, the better.
)
GET IT HERE!
Note:
1. Currently, it is a windows-only installer. But stay tuned.
2. The IBIS was mostly tested under China websphere and Chinese Operating systems, plz remember to backup your files/profiles/settings before installation!!! Try at your own risk.
However, I've got to say it once more:
Opera, the world's local browser!!
