Nokia will use Windows Phone 7 as the company’s primary operating system
Yes, you heard it right. It’s a shocking news in the mobile industry, as noone could be able to guess it. To tell the truth, many have guess it right, but Nokia has officially denied it. But today is different. Nokia will collaborate with Microsoft to use Windows Phone 7 for its mobile phones. And it’s not just that. Nokia will also contribute to the development of Windows Phone 7, and also decide the future of Windows Phone. We will see many features of Symbian and MeeGo appear in future Windows Phone operating system. Ovi Store will merge with Windows Marketplace. Ask for Symbian and MeeGo, and also S40, well… they will still exist, but we can only guess that Nokia will only use those for lower-end devices.
I would say that it is a really, really interesting news. The biggest company in operating syste and the biggest company in mobile industry form together. I’m excited to see how this collaboration becomes. To conclude, I will quote some line of the open letter from Nokia
There are other mobile ecosystems. We will disrupt them.
There will be challenges. We will overcome them.
Success requires speed. We will be swift.
Together, we see the opportunity, and we have the will, the resources and the drive to succeed

Anyway, for me I would rather see Nokia uses Android in its mobile phones, but, well… Come to think about it. Nokia has always thought of themselves as “the king”, and don’t want to get into the same level as other companies. With Google has already gotten too strong, Nokia probably wants to find the way to reclaim its “throne”.
Trivia: Vic Gundotra, Google’s vice president, just tweeted on Twitter “#feb11 Two turkeys do not make an Eagle”. Dunno what he meant…
