Geocaching and snow in late May \o/

After I bought my bike for about three weeks ago my friends have taken me out on long bike rides. Even when we are suppose to study for the exams (... I have one in about 6 hours bigsmile). And on our tour to the top of Gråkallen, we actually found snow ;o

And beside all the studying we've been hunting geo caches in Trondheim. It's fun and also a great reason for going outside doing stuff! bigsmile We also found a tiger in one of the caches :| (picture downstairs). Head over to Geocaching.com if you've never heard of it bigsmile

Awesome pose by me whistle

Just one of my projects during the exam period

Did someone say procrastination? How do I find time for this during the exam period? I don't know, really >_< I've earlier published an article about my Android application where you could ask the "bus oracle" when the next bus arrives++.

Today (May 26) me and some of my friends just released an enhanced version. I created a proof of concept web application. It's showing the real time bus arriving information!(new thingy in Trondheim). And a friend of mine (Magnus) created this iOS application. There's an Android version underway too;D

You should try it out if you are in Trondheim! bigsmile

... By the way...

This is me when I was offered a Internship position at Opera! HappyTri => X'D

(well... Actually, it's me at our student basement anniversary)

Say hi to Esteban!

On Tuesday April 12 Operas Esteban visited NTNU to kill some myth about Quality Assurance, and talked about what it meant to be a QA Engineer and how it is to work at Opera yes (please take me with you!)

Here's Esteban holding on his backpack... tightly! Just packed it! bigsmile (hope he/you took the right bus and got home safely bigsmile )

Organizers: Online and Abakus

Web<3

(read this article at the Campus Crew blog)

On Monday April 4 we had a three hour long "introduction to HTML5 and CSS3" presentation where I bragged about how perfect the web as an application platform is yes Well, actually I was talking about new elements in HTML5 and CSS3, while showing demos with some live coding smile

I'm a new Opera Campus Crew member and I was thinking that I could kick-start my "crew career" by holding some kind of a presentation. And as a committee member of an academic and social student organization I get a lot of requests and wishes on courses and guest lectures the students would be interested in. Actually companies use to hold such courses. But someone then suggested that I could have a presentation about HTML5 and CSS3. This was a perfect opportunity to hold my first event with the Campus Crew hat on bigsmile

This session was held at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway, and it joined the rest of Online's events this spring semester. Online is the academic and social student organization for the informatics studies at NTNU.

When I started planning this event I was thinking of a workshop where the participants could work together and create cool web applications. But some of the participants mentioned to me before the event that many of them wasn't familiar with this cool new "web-stuff". So I started out the history of HTML5(very short) and later about the cool new elements and APIs, and CSS3. This lead to many interesting questions and discussions. And I did my best to answer them all. We started at 4 pm this day and the last person left the room at 7 pm.

I also demoed how to remote debug "the web" with Opera Mobile on a handheld device and Opera Dragonfly on the desktop. Some of the participants tried this on their devices while some connected to other's computer and began to modify the remote content. A great little piece of Opera technology! wink

Seemed like everyone was having a great time. I had a great time presenting all these cool technologies bigsmile

Special thanks to Anna Brandt and Bruce Lawson for giving me inputs, inspiration and best wishes for the presentation! smile

Coffee for me bigsmile

Got it at the Opera-booth @ itDAGENE at NTNU. ;D

"It’s that time of year ... again"

I've just received a Christmas present from Opera. Have you? bigsmile

This semester have now come to an end and it's time for Christmas and new year holiday. I've already started on an Android app to check the timetable of the local busses in Trondheim (still I'm an iPhone user, and will never be an Android user), and ported the same app to an Opera Extension. I just redesigned my page too and I think it look a lot cleaner. What do you think? smile (might need some minor adjustments here and there...)

Unlike last year I'll be heading south later this Christmas holiday. On Sunday 26th I'll be heading to Lillestrøm to see what Mai Linh's up to - well, not really - until I return January 1st cheers

I also got a mail from Opera today saying that my Extension was published! \o/

Merry Christmas everyone and (... soon...) Happy New Year!

ByBuss - Opera Extension

First try on the new awesome feature in Opera 11. Extensions!

This one is kinda restricted to the locals only; people living in Trondheim, Norway. Since it's a service for the local busses;)

With ByBuss you can ask the Buss oracle when your next buss arrives or which one you'll have to take to arrive in time without leaving the site you're on! It's awesome;>

The extension is live at Operas extension catalog: https://addons.opera.com/addons/extensions/details/bybuss/

And it got its very one page: bybuss.humlebukten.net/

Good students
