I think the menu should be less transparent and be more “unique”. Also, the “go” button seems to need some styling. Other than that, it looks quite nice!

It should be styled other than the general text on the page so that you easily can see it and figure out that you can use it to navigate on the page. :-)

Ok for the comment, well I to be honest it's like a design that I've seen a couple of times. I agree about the unique factor. Since it is a personal website it should reflect your personality man. Something special about you should be seen.

The color combination is ok but i suggest you go with the occasion dude. Having to change your colors based on season would be something cool. That is just a suggestion.

But I like the concept, this is a good start man!

Well, you can simply use CSS for it, and indicate in the class. For page detection there is an existing PHP server variable that can help you identify which page is executing. I am poor with Javasript, in fact I seldom use it unless it's AJAX library.
