Our current host, SixServe, have either intentionally or accidentally locked down our accounts. We are currently in talks with their tech support and have this issue resolved within the week.
I will keep everyone updated as things gets rolling.
On the up-side, assuming SixServe resumes our service, the site is almost fully functional with the majority of the content already up

Opera 10.60B1 seems to get a slight boost in raw Canvas/Javascript performance (10%-ish), which is always nice

. Also, the tab thumbnail previewing has been made much more sleek and streamlined with a smooth animation (check it out!).
Compared to 10.50Beta, there are FAR fewer crashes (unfortunately, there still are the occasional random crashes even in 10.54 final ;().
I'm quite impressed, given how stable it is even as a "Beta". The only "minor" complaint I'd add would be the increased RAM usage after introducing the Carakan rendering engine (can't be blamed--I'm sure they did the best they can to reduce RAM consumption!).
All in all, I'm one happy camper

. Browsing the web is getting snappier, one page at a time!

I loved 10.50 Alpha when it was released for its super fast speed; however, it was prone to crashing, and some of the sites I frequently visit didn't work under it. With 10.50 Beta, some of those site-specific issues have been fixed (Thank you Opera!), but its still far too prone to crashing. Here, try this site out:
www.europeinruins.com (It's a mod site for the game Company of Heroes).
I'm eagerly awaiting the final build, and hopefully 99.9% of all crashing issues are resolved with the speed intact!

opera unite
AWESOME!
... That was the first word that popped into my head when I first heard of Opera Unite. I
finally (I know, shame on me!) got around to trying out Opera Unit, and boy o' boy does it have a load of potential. Yeah, it's a bit rough on the edges (The Unite media player takes forever to load my folder of merely 172 music files), but I'm sure in time optimizations will take root and little things like this will be ironed out.
I'm thinking of developing some nifty Unite apps myself, I'll be digging into the Documentations very soon!
Until then... keep Uniting

file size limit, irc, 2gb limit, dcc
...
I use Opera as my main browser, newsgroup viewer, e-mail client, IRC client, and RSS reader. Everything has worked just fine and dandy--until yesterday. I discovered that Opera doesn't support file transfer via XDCC larger than 2GB (anything less works fine).
Consider this a feature suggestion for Opera 10. I do sincerely hope they address this issue and allow files sizes in excess of 4GB like the mIRC 6.33 update has allowed.

Hello fellow penguins and/or their human tormentors!
I'm a w00tness Penguin in disguise, but you can think of me as a simple human in disguise

.
I like to prod other fellow humans and find out all sorts of peculiarities among them--um, us.
Well, with the introductions out of the way, I hope to, if not inform, at least to entertain in the coming blog posts
