My New Nokia N81

The Web Browser

One of my favourite things about this lil multimedia computer the Safari Web Browser, this is another thing NOKIA have improved in the S60V3 FP1 phones. Compared to the Safari one in my old N80 the ome in the N81 is A LOT more stable, handles bigger sites VERY well and also now has the Option to Rotate the browser to landscape if you prefer to browse like that, personaly im not realy fond of it but thats me. The browser also has FlashLite-2 built-in it can view and handle most FlashLite sites better than os9.1 phones. Web browsing is very smooth and fast opening pages even with GPRS since i usually keep 3G off and only turn it on for downloading files lager than 3MB. Sometimes the Web Browser doesn't load all the images in a site, usually one or two images but with a Reload it quicklly loads everything otherwise it a great Web Browser a lot better than Opera8 in my opinion, and Opera8 is a very good browser i have Opera8.65 installed, anyway here are some screenshots of this amazxing Web Browser:

Search App

Its been while since my last entry, my apologies, its not my fault, blame Eskom and their Load Shedding. Okay so the newer Nokia S60V3 phones (FP1 phones) like N81 have recieved some great improvements including this Search App which you are able to access from the Stand-By Screen. Its a very helpful app saves you time from scrolling forever to find an App, Message, Bookmark, Files (video,mp3 etc..) especially when you have a lot of file and other data in your phone, all you do is click on it and either then click on the field where the file you want is like i did below with Messages OR type in what you want and the phone immediatly searchs for the specific keyword, i often use this when im feeling too lazy to search for a song or app when i want to quickly find what i want amongst the many Apps and Mp3s i have, here are some screenshots of the app in action:

The Music Player

The N81 features a great music player displays Album Art, Visualisations, audio settings that you can change to suit you etc... Was realy happy to see that i can now edit Song, Artist, Album etc.. info without having to use a PC, FINALY now all my music is sorted correctly and all that. Here are some screenshots of the Music Player:

Phone Details:
Its a very stylish, sleek and well built peace of kit. it has 96mb SDRam with around 45.1mb ram on boot up meaning very good multitasking, better than a N95 Classic with V20 firmware. I can get a good 13aps running and still have 17MB ram left while all 13apps are running which is good compared to my old N80 which had a little 20mb ram at boot and i only got 2-4apps running before it starting to slowdown and close apps. N81 features the new single Freescale CPU with 369mhz under the hood, Nokia are using this CPU in their mid-end Symbian S60 Smartphones like: N76, 6110-Nav,5700 and 6290. N81 also has the very same DSP DAC-33 Sound chip found in the N91 so N81 has great sound quality making it superior to phones like the SE W910 and W960 in terms of sound.
N81 is made of a very gloosy plastic in the front and back which can be qiute a finger print magnet, this so far is only thing i dont like i always have to whipe it.
Here is pic of it with its headphones:
