Voting day

Today was a voting day here...it was a primary election to determine who will be on the ballot in November. Voting is a priviledge and a right. It's a priviledge because it can be taken away...felons lose their voting rights in some states. It's a right in that any adult has the right to vote. It's puzzling to me how so many can complain about elected officials, even if they haven't voted for or against that official. How can we, the People, run our country if we don't take the time to vote? We can't. Which means that the country is run by a minority of voters, not a majority of the People. I think that if politicians would talk about the issues and not slam each other in their pre-election commercials that more people would be interested in the voting process. At least then people would KNOW how each candidate will handle each one of the major issues, which is the reason that a candidate should or should not hold office...IMHO. What do you think?
