I'm Blogging This

I was working late one night with the help of a close friend when I noticed that the Pepsi she was drinking to stay awake had an address on the side. I wondered aloud if anyone ever sent them any mail or if there was just one guy in the mail room, sitting there looking twice as lonely as the Maytag Repairman. I decided I would write them a little letter and see if I got any response. Being that I am a cup short of a full pot of coffee & it was 3 O'clock in the morning, the letter was less than normal. It reads:

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Pepsi,

I just love your product. I can hardly sleep at night, counting the hours until I can have my next Pepsi Cola. I drink Pepsi from the moment I wake up, until the moment I go to bed. There is nothing like an ice cold Pepsi to refresh and renew you. It is especially nice when it's hot at work and I get to sit down and enjoy a sweet, satisfying Pepsi Cola. You wouldn't think it would be so hot in winter or early spring, but sometimes it's hotter than the surface of the sun in here. It's great to have a Pepsi on those especially hot days. I love Pepsi so much, I'm thinking of naming my son after it.

Can I have some free stuff? T-shirts, 2 liters, stickers, pens, baseball caps - whatever you have sitting around. Pepsi + free stuff + me = happy. I've never been very good at math, but you get the idea. Free stuff is cool!

I just thought I'd let you know how much I enjoy Pepsi Cola. If you send me free stuff, I will promote your product even more than I do now.

I mailed the letter on the 17th of April, not expecting much of a response. On the 27 Apr 06, I received a package in the mail. It contained a book "The Pepsi-Cola Story; Over 100 Years of Fun & Refreshment," a sheet of Pepsi stickers, a gifts & collectibles catalog, a "Pepsi Timeline" book, a pen, a pencil & a financial prospectus so I could invest in the company.

I was disapointed that there was no t-shirt, but decided they must not have sent one because I didn't specify a size. Even though they didn't send me the t-shirt, I came to the conclusion that Pepsi Rocks!
