Bedfords park

In between the rain on tuesday I managed to get to Bedfords Park, but the conditions turned sour on the way and so the red damselflys that had been reported had dived for cover. But i did manage my first speckled wood of the year

I also saw a couple of broods of mallards, one down to just 2 duclings, on the lake. This brood is faring better so far:

I also found this guy as well - my first definate common toad of the year

articles about non native animals are on there way...

The aliens are coming....Bedfords Park - first damselflys

Toads have such amazing eyes. Nice to see a speckled wood. I haven't noticed any so far (but I haven't really seen many butterflies to be honest, probably because most of my walks are aimed at seeing crepuscular mammals).

Beautiful photos.
Very interesting are the pics of the toad. :eyes: It seems, it does look quite crabby (but that may be just my impression). :D
