Bedfords park - meadow sweeping

, ,

On my last visit to bedfords park I did bit of meadow sweeping. My first good find was this tiny owl midge

I also found this grasshopper nymph,

an ichneumon wasp

a Capsus ater bug

and some sort of green plant bug

I also found on many meadow plant bugs, which appear to be very common at the moment

Around the meadow I also found a large skipper butterfly

and a Tentheredo mesomelas sawfly

On the way out I found a Athous haemorrhoidalis click beetle

ANd Ill finish this post with a nice photo I got of some crows that were calling at each other about something

Yes excellent selection. What procedure do you go through to collect up the specimens? It's certainly effective!

@ words - its basically the highly scientific technique of walk and sweep a bit, check the net, photograph anything interesting in the net (or nearby it if they escape/get placed there), turn out the net and repeat

it helps the meadow is quite diverse :D
