Wat tyler country park - with a blue tint....

, , , , ,

These are photos from July, back when I had the white balance 'issue' with my camera (basically the white balance got changed to tungsten and I didnt realise) which gave most photos a blue tint, at least to some extent. Ive have a go and the colour balance on these , but the blueness shows still on some. ANyway, the morning started well with a curlew

Down by the marina I heard a familar bird call looked up and saw to peregrines (probably a male and female) mobbing each other. All the photos I took were blurred and blue, but I have one unavoidably over sharpened and edited image that you can see the bird well enough in

Later a gatekeeper posed with a green bottle

In contrast to most places I know, the house sparrows are doing well at Wat Tyler, with many raising broods, which is presumably what this one is doing

I found some nice looking teasel

A moorhen posed nicely on the pond - there far more cooperative when there arn't 4 huge dogs splashing around in it!

Bly the lake a black tailed skimmer was bathing in the morning sun

And the best posing goldfinch Ive had with my new camera appeared - shame the shutter speed and WB was ruined by the tungsten setting

Goldfinches are my new Greenfinches!

I think my worst photography nightmare is grabbing the camera for a wildlife closeup, only to find that I've left it on the 30-sec exposures that I used for astrophotography! :yikes:

Anyway, nice photos

Great set Neil, despite having an incorrect WB.
Especially like the Moorhen.
