Weasely recognised

, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

A few weeks ago I went for one of my early morning walks around Wat Tyler Country Park, where I saw a cormorant flying over

Down at the first bird screen I saw a couple of waders, a first at that screen. One was a curlew

The other a green sandpiper

And a blue tit stopped to look at me while feeding

Around lunchtime a friend tipped me off on a weasel running up and down a path. My first attempt I didn't see it. In my lunch break we all headed down and in a total novice move I was not ready and after fighting with my zoom lock I only managed one ok photo - gutting

I waited for another shot with no luck, but did get these mating common darters in the mean time

Along with this small copper

Very nice pic, I like the green sandpiper

I like the sandpiper and the blue tit, also the weasel. Do weasels hibernate? Maybe getting food stash for the winter.

Nice job with the bluetit- the background there really helps improve the impact of the shot. Also the jaunty pose is a good capture

Wow, nice shots. I really like the Cerlew. I've haven't seen one of them yet!

Well, getting any shot of a weasel is impressive, so well done for that!

Thanks everyone

@L2D2 - weasel dont hibernate. It was running up and down the path with dead mice apparently and into the same hole. I reckon it was feeding an (often large) brood of youngsters.

@ chitoniid - the one thing that ruins it is that twig across the body, but theres always a twig/blade of grass in the way!

@Adele - Im glad I got something, just annoyed I missed a golden opportunity to get a hard to get animal
