Waders and a young rabbit

, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

On Monday, with the forecast clear skies I headed in for a 'dawn raid' to Wat Tyler CP. The tide was still in quite a way, but receading. Down at the second bird screen the sun was just creeping high enough to light the far side of the creek, where a heron was standing in the morning sunlight

There were two redshanks nearby, which were on the far bank too.
They then moved to the island in the middle of the creek as tide receeded. Thankfully the sun was rising higher and lighting more of the creek, allowing me to photograph the redshanks in this closer position

A bit later a couple of bar tailed godwits turned up

Along with a little egret

And wandering along the main path later I spotted some rabbit posing in the sun, including this grown up kitCouple of my best rabbit photos

I like the rabbits but I really love the egret. Want it for a wallpaper. It's beautiful
