Early and earth bumblebees

Just a few photos from Sues garden back in mid July, mainly of bumble bees. First a few of what I think is , the Bombus terrestris, earth bumblebee.

Very interesting. I've never seen a proboscus like that on a bee before. And then the pollen sac up front too!
Was wondering what they were early for bigsmile

+l. I was thinking the same thing. Can't be early in the year because it's almost autumn. Maybe he always gets to his appointments early? lol

Love the bees. Never realized there were so many. To my mind, there are bumblebees and honeybees, and killer bees,.
