Well after my 'spring is here' post heres a one filled with snow! For those not in the UK we had a mass of weather move down from the arctic/Russia/somewhere cold and we ended up here in Essex (SE UK) with the first snow of winter; in spring!? - good old british weather! A walk through Romfords Parks

I had a half day yesterday and rather than go Regents park again, I decided to have a walk around my usual haunts and do some recording for the East London bird forum. First stop was Raphaels Park where as I entered I saw a pair of Great crested grebes performing courtship - the phase where they swim so fast that their body rises completely out of the water, at an angle of 45 degrees. Of course I didn't get any photographs of it... But there was another grebe who was more co-operative:

Deer sunset

I wandered up to bedfords park yesterday and while helping Vicky get some pictures of the red deer I noticed the sunset so quickly moved to get the stag in postion and this was the end result:
