Elmley Marshes

On Monday I visited the Elmley Marshes RSPB reserve on Sheppey. The drive in is through the NNR managed area is great, as birds can be seen right next to the road, like this curlew



The birds on the walk into the actual reserve (it is more than a miles walk from the car park) turned out to be harder to get near. A flock of golden plovers took to the air when a marsh harrier got to close

And there were a number of greylag geese flocks


One of which decided to do a low over head display over the path

Once in the reserve there intially wasn't much to see but more turned up later, which I will cover tommorow smile
