Grey Herons in Regents Park

, , , , , , ,

In the second of a few posts (I took a lot of photos!) from Regents Park I'll cover the herons. First up was one that posed for a close up, showing the sunning colouration in breeding seasonheron close up

The aim of the day was in flight shots, which I got a few of, including some with them carrying nesting material

There were a few on the nests at times but only one posed through the twigs

And I got a few nice ones as the evening light first backlit a heron

Then lit this one nicely

That's especially nice to see them engaged in collecting the nesting material. Maybe soon, some tiny little heron heads will be poking up out of the nest.
