Grove ferry and wildwood

Here what I got up to Saturday before last. The weather was awful: cloudy and drizzly, so after lunch in Grove Ferry, the short walk involved a lot of sitting in the hide. We were rewarded with some pretty close views of a little egret hunting
and standing around
Before it took off
We were wondering if we should go or not and soon after when a polite but rather loud gentleman said (well shouted!) "HELLO!" If he'd scared off something good I might have been annoyed but I found it amusing to have a birder being loud in hide
We had to pass Wildwood on the way home, so we popped in and unsuprisingly it was nearly empty. But with it not being very busy I got to speak to one of the rangers and had a long chat about beavers, red squirrels, and pine martens. With the combined effect of thepoor weather and the fact most of the park is in woodland, I couldn't get a decent shutter speed most of the time. I did get a couple of the foxes in the more open enclosure

And Adele - one of those two foxes actually escaped while I was talking to the ranger - it happens all the time apparently! lol
