Goldcrest - britains smallest bird at Hanningfield

, , , ...

On Monday I ended up at Hanningfield Essex Wildlife Trust nature reserve, where thanks to the dry weatehr we have had this year here in Essex, the reservoir is very low (just above 50% capicity I'm told) so the birds hides were to far from the water for any photography. But just as I was about to give hope of getting anything I noticed a little bird feeding in the hedgerowA goldcrest

Goldfinches at Rainham Marshes

Last Tuesday I headed to Rainham Marshes on a day off. Well I've finish my photos taken on Skomer, and this post is what we saw after we left the island that day. Leaving the island on the boat we got lucky and saw a small pod of common dolphins :DI was told later by a member of staff at lockley lodge, that this a rare sight from the skomer ferry, and she had never seen dolphins from the boat!
