Back when it wasn't all rainy and grey, I went for an early morning walk around Wat Tyler Park. The first thing of note was the 4 collared doves in a hawthorn bush

Snow in Bedfords, Rise and Raphaels Park

Here are the photos from last Wednesday. The snow was still thick, despite the sunny weather and the fact it hadn't snowed for a day or two. Walking through Rise Park, I noticed something moving in the ditch right next to me. There, flicking leaves like a blackbird, a metre away, was redwing! It moved of but I could get within about 3m of it with ease, by far the tamest redwing I've ever encountered.

Some more photos from Raphaels Park in December 2008, but towards the end on the 28th. It was a busy sunny xmas holiday day so not too much to be seen, except for the pair of stock doves I sometimes see in the wooded area
