Oare marshes part 1

I'v e taken quite a few photos in kent over the weekend and Ive decided to start with those from Oare Marshes. Im still waiting on IDs for some of them (and I've got to process others) so I just put the first lot up today. After my first attempt at digiscoping I've been wanting to try again in better conditions - which I got on Saturday evening. Again, I borrowed susan's dad's telescope (an Opticron ES 80 GA ED) and her sisters compact camera (a PANASONIC Lumix DMC-TZ3), hand holding the camera, which was optically zoomed in slightly (probably about 2-3x), upto the scope's eyepiece. The scope perforemed best at lower magnifications (18-20x) but those at higher magnifications didn't come out too badly (at least 40x - I can't remember the exact max magnification). All the photot were cropped to some extent. Anyway the first few are at lower magnification:

Digiscoping birds

As promised yesterday, here are the results of the digiscoping at Oare marshes. We borrowed susan's dad's telescope (an Opticron ES 80 GA ED) and her sistes compact camera (a PANASONIC Lumix DMC-TZ3 I think) and tried it out in the garden and suprisingly photos started to come out. So we quickly popped down to Oare Marshes before the sunset. The light was not great as the sun disappeared behind cloud and it was late in the day, but the photos came out ok.
