Birth of a grey seal pup

For this post I will return to my trip to Donna Nook. Here I witnessed one of those great moments of wildlife watching. Grey seal pup being born. Be warned if your eating or squeemish, because I had the camera in hand! Its not too graphic and bloody but you have been warned!

Talking to the wardens this seal mum had been there for a number of days (they usually give birth a day or two after arriving).They were beginning to worry something was wrong.

The White Cliffs of Dover

A few weekends agao I went to Dover casle for a look round, and after headed to the White Cliffs. Walking along I was looking out for fulmars, with no luck. But I did photograph a bird I didnt get a good photo or view of on Skomer: a kittiwake

Thanks for your help - images of havering competition

Just a quick thank you for all those of you that helped me pick what photos to enter into the 'Images of Havering' competition. And to fill up this post (I'm busy on my project at the mo - yes im actaully doing work instead of wandering round Regents Park!) I thought Id post the 8 enteries I made. These arn't necessarily as they were entered (I cropped some differently) but there the same photos so you get the idea :smile:
