Snow in Bedfords, Rise and Raphaels Park

Here are the photos from last Wednesday. The snow was still thick, despite the sunny weather and the fact it hadn't snowed for a day or two. Walking through Rise Park, I noticed something moving in the ditch right next to me. There, flicking leaves like a blackbird, a metre away, was redwing! It moved of but I could get within about 3m of it with ease, by far the tamest redwing I've ever encountered.

Harrow Lodge Park

Here is there rest of my report from Monday. This a very photo heavy post, so give your browser a chance! After leaving the chase I crossed the road and entered Harrow Lodge Park. Heading towards the lake I saw a Jay and a greater spotted woodpecker on the same tree with a green woodpecker below! When I got to the lake there was a very cooperative Black headed gull stting on a pole

local redwings

I mentioned last month that I had seen redwings in my local area for the first time (see here). Well yeaterday I saw a flock of 41(!) on the field in Raphaels park. I started to creep towards them only for a dog walker to cut across the field in front of me (he could see what I was doing but didn't care :rolleyes:). So I started again, only for another dog walker to do the same! lol! . Anyway enough with the ranting, here are the photos (apologise for the quality, it was getting dark and there small birds;))
