Following on from my previous two posts, there were butterflies other than swallowtails at strumpshaw. In the Doctor's garden I photogrpahed a few small tortoiseshells with my fz7 while waiting for the swallowtails to arrive

Strumpshaw Fen: Swallowtail butterflies

Last Saturday I was kindly picked up by Dave (see his website here) and we headed to Strumpshaw for the WAB meet, staying over night at a nearby campsite and spending the next day there too. Over these two days I saw and photographed lots of species, but to start with I'll concerntrate on the swallowtail butterflies.
