Richmond Park - ducks

The saturday before last I headed to Richmond Park for so Sue could try out some photography techniques she'd been reading about. I took a lot of photos as I always do when visiting this park, so Ive broken it down into more than one post. In this post I'll cover the ducks, starting with the pintails.

These birds are part of the collection in the Isabella Plantation

There were some shovlers there too

They were demostrating how they use their large beaks to dabble for food

I had not seen these two species there before, and there were another new species: shelducks

There were species I'd seen before too:

Mandarins


These were present on another pond too

Red crested pochardsI only saw the single bird this time

I got some more commonly encounter species, including a close up of a canada goose

And, to finish off, some mallards

Lovelly photos :heart: :D I find waterfowl so much fun to photograph, they can be brilliant posers or hard to snap, like the ones at Arundel, i have nearly got them all done and will appear on my blog shortly. :D
