A white Easter!?

So I decided to try get some photos of the deer in the snow. So I set off and got plenty of shots of bedfords park in the snow. Here are some of them:

I also got some nice close ups of plants: this Hawthorn flower was actually in Rise Park
But this bud

and this sycamore seedling were in Bedfords park

This little egret was quite hard to see in the snow!

I got some nice photos of the crows, which contrasted well with the snow

Which brings me to the red deer. When I arrived they were tuck under the trees over the hill

So I wandered round towards the forest side and could see the herd

So I moved further round to get closer and got some nice shots

The red deer even started to display typical winter behaviour: I saw one scraping away the snow with its hoof to gat at the grass underneath and manged to capture this one reaching for the lower branches of a tree

Then after warming up in the visitor center, and noticing the snow was melting we decided to head home for lunch, before the snow turned to slush. On the way out I snapped this snowman
and one more of a deer
On the way home we also found 3 mallards in Rise Park, two of them here

The snow was mealtting quickly and by the time the sun came out it was all but gone. And as you can see from this photo I just took, all the snow has now gone
Oh well at least I finally got my 'deer in the snow' Photos
Nice pictures, especially of the deer browsing
There was a respectable amount of snow here (on top of yesterday's hail) and much of it settled. It's mostly gone now.

I was pleased with the browsing shot, but wish I could have got either side of the stag in front and got a clear shot. Oh well always next winter (or easter! lol)
