Woking wildlife and macros

, , , , ,

Well with the rubbish weather I did go out photographing yesterday afternoon or today but here are some macros and other photos from a lunch break in Woking. Ill start with this male mallard with his lovely head feathers glistening in the bright sun

I then broke out the macro lens and took this photo. I think its a st. marks fly but I haven't got my ID books with me

I then came across this timid but pretty bee and used just the super zoom macro on the FZ7 for this shot

I then came across my first alderfly of the year, who was very co-operative, even crawling onto my hand at one point:

As you can see Im starting to get the hang of the raynox dcr-159 macro lens, but still need to work on the DOF

ANd another thing I need to remember is to reduce the f number again after taking off the macro lens - I left it high and took this photo resulting in a rather over exposed photo, but it does show the nice irredesence on a magpie

Hopefully tommorow if the weather holds and I have some luck I may have some photos of a certain zig-zag backed reptile  :D
