Bedfords Park pond dip - hawker dragonfly nymph, planarian flatworm, great crested newt tadpole and more

Carrying on from yesterday heres what was caught in the pond dip. First up is the hawker dragonfly nymphs

This photo showing the under side of the head, with the mask clearly visible - this shoots forward to catch its prey

This is the second very large (6cm) nymph

And a third nymph

Also found was a great crested newt tadpole

and a smooth newt tadpole

There were loads of (lesser) water boatmen

and backswimmers

water snails

and mayfly nymphs

A few tiny Hapilus immaculatus water beetles turned up

ANd this planarian flatworm

Bedfords park - dragonflies, grasshoppers and small red eyed damselfliesThanks for your help - images of havering competition
