Last Sunday went to Reculver in search of waders. Unfortunately the beach was nearly covered by the tide when I got there, and being Sunday morning the area was swarming with dogs and their walkers. I held out little hope of seeing anything but gulls, but went for a nice walk anyway. On top of the cliff is Reculver country park, which is a long thin park with a path running along the cliff and another along the border and a 10m or so band of long grass between the two. Amazingly, despite the constant stream of dogs on both paths, the long grass held 2 or 3 skylarks
These skylarks started to dispaly to each other

Then squaring off

before resrting to fighting, in mid air!

They repeated this a few times, posing in between

Then as the dogs got too much they left, and so did I. I then headed to Seasalter, which I heard was a good birding spot. Unfortunately I wasn't exactly sure where abouts in Seasalter to look, but I did come across this flock of whimbrels which took off and flew round

before landing again in a field

L2D2 - I dont think there truely migratory, more a resident species, but I think they move around a bit to find food winter
