I read that in the most recent Opera 10 alpha that they have changed the names of some files. I do not know the effects of this on OperaFly's backup capabilities.

It's been a while, but I have finally fixed the bug where everything was included in automatic backups. That is the ONLY change in this release.

Hopefully I can get some of the things I wanted to get done with OperaFly done soon. I am having trouble remembering which features were desired so I will update the list below each time there is a request for a feature, or a bug that needs to be addressed:

Known Issues (Bugs):
Controls (buttons, etc.) overlap when system font size is set to 120 dpi.

Needs Confirmation:
Opera@USB compatibility is broken.

Feature Requests:
Automatically delete older backups.
Password Protect Fly Files.

I assume you mean Opera@USB... Compatibility with Opera@USB is currently broken. I haven't looked into it yet, but I'm thinking something with the way Opera@USB functions has changed.

In Opera you should be able to do the following:

Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced (tab) -> Toolbars -> Menu setup (heading) -> Opera Standard

While you are there you can delete the menu setup with OperaFly in it.

Hi there! I have instaled OperaFly but it does not work, I think it is a problem of files paths. An Error window opens telling that path to /mail/accounts.ini is wrong. Any way to change default paths? Best regards.

Hi, I have installed Opera 10 Alpha Build 1456 and when I installed your OperaFly it could not find Opera at all I even went to the opera directory and selected the opera folder and still was told could not find opera!! OperaFly seems to think I have opera in my D: drive for some reason when it is not.

Do you have any suggestions please.

I have just tried to run OperaFly as a non-Administrator user under Windows XP. The software was installed by an Administrator user with the Start Menu folder shared with all users. However, when I try to run OperaFly in any other user than the installer I get this:

Yes, if I go to 'C:\Program Files\OperaFly' and manually try to create the Working directory I get the same error: cannot create folder.

I cannot work out how to give all users write permission to the OperaFly folder. I also cannot see anything in OperaFly whereby I can tell it to use another folder other than the Working one (eg c:\temp).

I must not be able to see the obvious: anyone help?

I can see how this would be a problem. There is no option to change the directory that OperaFly uses as it's "working" directory. I will add it to my todo list if I go to update OperaFly again.

In the meantime, OperaFly will work in any directory without installation. You can just copy OperaFly.exe to C:\temp and then run OperaFly from there. It will then use C:\temp\working as it's "working" directory.

Hello,

I use last opera snapshot and you know its default directory is program files/opera 10 beta but I set up it in program files/opera directory.

I tried to use OperaFly standalone to backup but it says/warns "This is not an opera diroctory" and even if I choose new directory as a path it is not allow it.

Do you know solution?

Sorry for the delay, I don't get emails when people comment for some odd reason. It sounds like I need to create an OperaFly package that includes the debug file. It will show a much clearer reason why the OperaFly is having problems. I will work on this as soon as I return home.

I just wanted to say thanks for your efforts.

I have been using this from my USB drive on different machines with everything from Win2k to Win7 with Opera 9x. It's a great tool.

It did crash on me while backing up Opera@USB 9.64 with widgets.

When using the stand alone version of OperaFly it will not recognise Opera 10 Beta 2 build 1679 as an Opera Directory,so Opera Fly will not work with this version of Opera.

I will be looking at Opera 10 compatibility probably on Monday. It would seem that Opera 10 is coming closer to completion so I think it is safe to look at it now.
