Happy Halloween...

Halloween was fun this year. There were literally thousands of children Trick-O-Treating, which was nice to see. It is fun to enjoy traditional holidays, and great that other families still do too.

Blake had help from his faithful companion Dozer this year. Together they made a great team!

Steamy delicious goodness in a cup! No, not coffee. My new best friend is Starbuck Chai latte with soy. What a delightful beverage! My son intruduced them to me a week ago, and now my day can not go through without my chai latte!

Tazo Chai is absolutely devine tea. How I have made it through life thus far without this amazing nectar escapes me.

Enjoy some Tazzo It will warm your senses.

Conversations with Blake...

I was chatting with Blake this morning about his first week in a new school. He loves it, so I asked him about his new friends. To which he replies;

“There are three people I really like.”

“That is awesome son, what are their names?”

He pauses for a long second then he says…

“My best friend is…cartoon face boy.”

“Cartoon face boy? That is his name son?”

“No mom, that is what I call him because his face looks like a cartoon character. He has spiking hair and freckles all over his face. He is really cool.”

“OK, but you do not call him that to his face do you? That might hurt his feelings.”

“No duh mom I don't call him that, I just can't remember his name!”

“Ok, who else did you meet?”

“Well, there is pop-eyes.”

“What?”

“Mom, when he looks at you his eyes pop out!”

“Wow, that is a little creepy dear. Anyone else”

“Oh yeah mom!” Followed by the cutest Blakey grin he could muster…

“There is kissy girl.”

“Kissy girl? Oh my, why do you call her kissy girl?”

To which he proudly replies…..”Because she chases me around the playground trying to kiss me!”

LOL, oh my Blake. Life is so easy when you are 8 years old.

This will be one busy week!

Thankfully there was an extra day off this week because I most certainly needed it. The coming week is the move to the new house, which we are very excited about! In between packing and organizing, I am still in training 4 hours a day for my new job, so I have a feeling I am going to be exhausted before this is all said and done.

No complaints from me though. Anything that brings a positive light to our family is welcomed no matter how much hard work is involved.

And hopefully, we will be settled when the fall weather, my favorite season, sets in.

Good Monday, February 19 everyone.

I am enjoying the last day of a 4-day weekend with the boys. It is always so nice when they are off from school for a few days to recharge. We did our most favorite thing together....absolutely nothing! No schedules, no plans, no expectations....just "chill" time. It was great.

My family is doing well. My mom has been very sick, but hanging in there. She is without a doubt the strongest person I know not to mention the bravest. She has dealt with much adversity in her life and has always triumphed. She is without a doubt, my hero. I love you mom.

This has been a strange winter here in Idaho. It seems all the snow fall in this country stayed far east. We have had hardly any here in the valley and I miss it! The mountains had a good ski season though.

There may be a move in my future. My daughter lives in northern Idaho and really wants us to live closer. I have to admit I miss her SO much so this summer after Garrett graduates from high school, I will take a trip to Northern Idaho and western Washington and look for a new place to call home. Fortunately where I travel my business follows so I can work anywhere in the country with no problems. This should be an interesting year.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers in our life. The most precious and special people in the world.

And for my mother...

As I reflect on the times that I remember her best
it seems she was always enduring a test.
Of a life changing moment a loved one had faced
or the choice of a path that was taken in haste.

She watched all of her children, as each found their way,
and each of the three knew where their place lay.
In the heart and the mind of a woman who knew...
each child as a flower with its own special hue.

She left us so quickly but she's not really gone,
as she's in all of us, so her beauty goes on.
And the wisdom and humor she showed through her days,
is in each of us and displayed many ways.

She lives on in her children and in their children as well,
and all the great grands the uniqueness we'll tell.
Of this very special person with a heart made of gold
who left with us memories to cherish and hold.

Flowers for Mommy...

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing great. I am doing marvelous other than I am working too hard. I think that is what happens when one becomes a "work-a-holic"...shame on me!

I had to make my way back here to read that wonderful poem I found and I posted myself for goodness sakes. I am sure mom is even looking down from heaven shaking her finger at me, "Slow down Veronica!" I know mom, I hear you.

Yesterday afternoon my two little guys went for a walk, and as always, picked some flowers for mommy along the way. At least my kiddos know how to stop and smell the flowers. Thanks boys.
