STAT looks good, but that's not it.

We have too many letters. The S just before LAYERTWO was intentionally left out. So we get rid of it.

DESPARATLY has a missing E and a misspelled A that should be an E. That's a weird way of saying that we should get rid of an A.

Anagram it and you get STRATO. I've already mentioned this multiple times online. So no news here.

Remember how K2 said that it was buried? That's an indication to look at the Morse code (or K3 or K4). But in this case, it's the Morse code.

If we go back to CAN YOU SEE ANYTHING, we note that LUCID backwards is D-ICU-L. ICU! That's a clue.

We can try reversing the Morse code of the letters and only the C will not reverse itself.

We are then led to SHADOW FORCES when K2 speaks of THEY USED THE EARTH'S MAGNITIC FIELD. A magnetic field is a force. Putting the clues together, we note that the C (-.-.) in FORCES can be split into (- .-.) which makes TR. Replacing the C, we get SHADOW FORTRESS.

Extracting FORTRESS with our original X's and O's, we get:

What is a Stratofortress? It's a B-52 bomber.

I originally thought that our blank spaces were on 5 and 2, but this is not so. The B is 2 and 5+2=7 is the second blank.
