Yes indeed Blog friends the time has almost arrived!!
Next Sunday myself, Mrs J and Waka Jnr head off to the US!!!
Its gonna be the first time I hit US shores!! Im so excited I think Im gonna pee myself!!
"Whats it gonna be like" I have been asking myself for months now!!
I got to tell you, Im expecting everything LARGE. Large cars, large buildings, large people, and fucking HUGE portions!!!!
I have enough questions, ifs, buts and maybes runninng around in my head to keep me going for months.
Is Taco Bel gonna taste as good as I dream that it will???
Am I gonna get robbed at gunpoint for the first time in my life??
Am I gonna object to getting finger-printed and retinal scanned at the airport despite the fact that the last crime I commited was nicking a pack of sweets from a shop when I was 9??
Yes I know, I shouldnt complain. If the Bush created BIG LIE that is the WAR ON TERROR says thats what I have to do to get my hands on some tasty Taco Bel then scan away!!
Is the card they give me to fill in on the plane as a non US citizen still gonna have the "Where were you between 1939 and 1945" question on it???
This trip is gonna rock!!!!
Together with Mrs J, myself and the little one, we are travelling with Mrs Js folks, her brother, girlfriend and 2 kids.
The trip has been organised round Mrs Js old lady turning 60! (Note to BC: Her birthday is May 17th mate. I'm trying to wangle how I can skip off for a couple of hours to catch the Chumps League Final)
Am I gonna see as many obese people as I'm led to believe (thanks Oprah) the US has???
Am I gonna see Terror Alerts when I switch on Breakfast TV in my hotel room??? --- (I ask that question based on my first experience of American TV--We were in Antigua in Feb 2002 and for 9 straight days some guy on breakfast Telly was telling me to be afraid at 7am every morning).
This afternoon while all these questions were running round my head I was at the same time reading the 'small print' regarding the details of our trip.
Guess what??? We have internet in our room!!!! I was very happy when I found this out!!
2 minutes of reading later!! Guess what??? I read that while I (we) are in the Disney park itself, I have to keep my shirt on, and shoes on at all times!!!
No strolling about barefoot (as I love to do) or bare chested (as I love to do) for Waka then eh????
But hey!!....I'll trade the shirt and the shoes for "in my room internet" for sure!!!
The next Blog you will read from me will be just after I've tried Taco Bel FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!
Those of you who are aware of my odd obsession with this fast food that I've yet to try will know that this will be a massive moment in my life!!!
Between now and next Sunday Im gonna practice 'pledging my allegiance to the flag' for 2 hrs every day.
Oh yeah...........and I have to buy myself some new sandles too!!!

As always, my thoughts go out to your wonderful family. Have a GREATTTT TIME (and Taco Bell isn't quite what its hyped to be. But maybe I'm a little desensitized after all these years)
