'Song Of The Thrusters' -- The Launch Of Endeavour
Thursday, 16. July 2009, 18:59:42
So yesterday, after 5 previous failed attempts, the space shuttle Endeavour was blasted in an upward direction at frightening speeds, taking its 7 passengers to join their gravity free NASA amigos floating around up there, busy carrying out various space station daily chores.
I was on a 'mission' (no pun intended) to capture a decent quality audio clip of the live event (result), to be mixed with a piece of music shortly thereafter.
'Song Of The Thrusters - The Launch Of Endeavour' is an audio tribute to the men and women who, over the years, have been brave (insane) enough to strap themselves onto those MASSIVE machines and be blasted into orbit!
For best results, Song Of The Thrusters should be played with as MUCH VOLUME as your surroundings will allow you !!

I tip my hat to each and every one of them!!
Till the next time friends

Was incredible to see/hear as Mrs J and I watched and I attempted to record it.
The ground shaking! TV microphones struggling to cope with the noise etc.! It really demonstrated the incredible power.
What that must feel like physically for the guys onboard!?
You can imagine the phrase 'pass the sick bag' would be quite common during that time!!

Acutally they don't pass it around as they each have one like in the seat back on airlines. And, that reminds me of a little trick my brother likes to play on long, boring flights. When they sometimes hit some bad turbulence, he makes a big show of moaning and groaning and reaching for his barf bag.
He then tucks his head between his legs and makes some hideous throwing up sounds while puffing air in and out of the bag.
Soon, other passengers become queasy, and reach for their bags and start up-chucking. He has a really twisted sense of humor....

Great story!!
It would seem that your brother shares the same 'slightly off the beaten track' sense of humour as my dear old Mum
