Wired News says no big game to be found on Safari

Wired.com published a not very glorious article on the new Safari for Windows beta.

The article summarizes with, "Overall, it's hard to find a compelling reason to like or to dislike the beta version of Safari 3. And without a compelling reason to switch, most Firefox and IE users won't." (Of course, no mention of Opera users, but nothing new there:mad: )

Also, they noted that the speed data given on the Safari for Windows website may be, well, a bit fanciful to say the least.

Safari for Windows: Good or bad for Opera?

Today a hot subject appeared in the Opera forums.

Steve Jobs announced that a version of Safari, the browser for Mac, is going to be released for Windows.

An opportunity to spread the word about Opera

,

Hi all,
I Googled "browser reviews" this morning. The first page results included two of interest.
You can help spread the word about Opera at http://www.rateitall.com/t-1067-internet-browsers.aspx . Register with your junk e-mail address and write an opinion on Opera (personnally I gave it 5 stars), and while your at it, why not write an opinion on Firefox (I gave it 3 stars; "ok", and said if you want the best experience possible, try Opera).
Be sure to add a comment saying that Opera is now free and ad free. There are outdated reviews there saying that Opera is not free.
Remember: be respectful, be friendly, be convincing. Leaving a message like "Opera rules, Firefox sucks" won't convince anyone to join us.
And then you might be pleased with this website's browser comparison:

Site on firefox myths

,

I'm sure I'm not the first to point out this great page on Firefox myths at Andrew K's website.

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/SupportCD/FirefoxMyths.html

After you're done with that page, take a look around the rest of his site as well. Lot's of good info.

"Survey" being cited in web articles. Go Vote!

, ,

Fellow Opera militants:
At Surveyware.com there is a so-called "survey" on which browser is better.
Although this type of thing is in no way, shape or form a true survey, I've run into several articles now that refer to it as a source of information on browser satisfaction.
The firefoxers have or course "voted" in mass (FF leading at 65ish% as I write this) so we need to do the same.
A vos armes !:knight:

Another thing I like about Opera: its logical layout

, ,

It seems as if the good folks at Opera spent a little more time than the other guys thinking about logical user interface layout...

What was "your thing" for choosing Opera

, , , ...

So, here I am with my first blog entry, and I thought I’d ask you all a question that might be fun for all of us:

What was “the thing” that made you decide on Opera as your default browser?
