8 to 15 October last quarter @ 07:33

,

All the tropical storms of the last few spells had run out. Little was showing on the NEIC earthquakes list. Just these few large enough to be heard around the world:

6th
4.1 M. OFFSHORE COQUIMBO, CHILE
4.7 M. SOUTHERN XINJIANG, CHINA
4.1 M. GULF OF CALIFORNIA
4.1 M. REVILLA GIGEDO ISLANDS REGION
4.5 M. SOUTH OF THE FIJI ISLANDS
4.6 M. IZU ISLANDS, JAPAN REGION
4.9 M. NORTHERN MID-ATLANTIC RIDGE
4.6 M. OFFSHORE VALPARAISO, CHILE
4.8 M. SVALBARD REGION

Then things kicked off with a 5.6 and a couple of 5.3Mag quakes:

7th

5.3 M. AZERBAIJAN
4.5 M. BANDA SEA
4.3 M. PAPUA, INDONESIA
4.5 M. OFF THE COAST OF EL SALVADOR
5.3 M. NEW BRITAIN REGION, PAPUA NEW GUINEA
4.7 M. SAMOA ISLANDS REGION
4.4 M. OFF THE COAST OF COSTA RICA
5.6 M. LUZON, PHILIPPINES
4.4 M. KOMANDORSKIYE OSTROVA, RUSSIA REGION
4.7 M. TONGA

So I looked at the first part of the list again and there it was; a starter from Fiji at 4.5M. So I looked to see if there were any more. Yes a Tongan at 4.7.
(the list starts at the bottom for each day but I put the days in a different sequence to the one you will find at:
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.php)

8th (so far)

4.5 M. NORTHWESTERN IRAN
6.0 M. GULF OF CALIFORNIA
4.2 M. ANTOFAGASTA, CHILE
5.8 M. ANTOFAGASTA, CHILE
4.1 M. OFFSHORE VALPARAISO, CHILE
4.7 M. FIJI REGION

Anyway at the start of this spell the tropical storm Prapiroon: looks like turning into a massive typhoon.
