Thank you for showing how RSS will cause silent data loss with this article! For some reason, I'm subscribing to the WebApplications RSS feed and not the Atom one and the first sentence in this article reads as follows in Opera (which I use as my feed reader): "Some folks have been curious about a little project we cooked up over on Opera Labs: The element.". See? "The element". The word "video" is completely stripped away. Think I'll start subscribing to the Atom feed to prevent this silent data loss from happening in the future.

You would do wise to stop promoting the RSS feed over the Atom feed on the My Opera pages too, btw.

@asbjornu

It happens I was the one to report it to the devs quite some time ago already. I'll try to get a status update on it and point them to your comment here too

@Guille

I think it will start with the video, object and embed elements because they are closely related. Håkon will be at #webapps for that discussion but, as long as the chat is not moderated and there isn't anything better on topic, web applications in general can be discussed too of course. That's what the channel is for smile

I'll try to be there.

P.S. And nobody knows about a country named Latvia (: There is no Riga on timeanddate.com

It's great to hear Håkon Wium Lie aka Howcome will be there. I did a post about the experimental Opera build with Ogg Theora support and I will join the chat.
