Google Ranked Me Number One.

Still putting final tweeks on the texture DVD Basics Bundle 1. I want to give more samples of the other texture DVDs. Here's some very cool news. I Googled "texture DVDs" and a link to this blog popped up at number 1. Wow! Awesome. I guess obsession pays. BTW-If you are an artist and want to try some very original seamless textures in your latest 3D work let me know.
I have a limited number of DVDs packed with the latest textures in high res jpeg format ready to be explored and exploited. Visual Bacon is the name of my texture company. I chose the title to be reminiscent of "eye candy" only it's more filling and even less respectable. You know the old "Bad boy of foods" that everybody loves. I want Visual Bacon to be the artists 3D short order diner where they can get down home greasy textures that don't come from some processing plant but are homemade by an overworked sweaty fry cook of an artist that doesn't even know how to spell latte much less fix you one.
As you can tell I was inspired by the Google ranking no matter how short lived it may be. And that it may be as other artists and companies began to put textures on DVDs instead of just CDs.
For Basics Bundle 1 I needed the space for the amount of high resolution textures at 1024, 2048 and some 4096 sizes.(Factors of 2) A hat tip to the Game Devs, since 3D designers don't have the factor of 2 size restriction. Thank God! The other DVDs may not need to be as beefy but they won't be as expensive to produce either. Basics Bundle DVDs are going to be just that. Texture DVDs you will want to have on hand to create the normal and not-so normal worlds we live and dream in.
Even though the Basics Bundle 1 DVD is still being tweaked I found more inspiration for Designer Depot today. There will be tons of four types of textures on the DVD: Stylized Floral Designs, Polka Dots, Stripes and some Paisley prints. All of which are hot in the Home Decor arenas right now. Stripe textures are very big in textiles. Rugs walls, furniture, they are everywhere.
Another texture I see making a big resurgence is natural textiles like wicker, natural woven materials and wood. Wood, wood wood. It's everywhere. Cherry, oak, mahogany, ash, pine, light and dark, sometimes every surface is wood grained to excess, very masculine. My wife was not enthused and I must admit it was a bit over done. There should be a variety of texture not so much the same color of wood everywhere you look. But hey, I'm just an artist not an interior decorator. I’ll supply the textures you decide which ones to use. Trends come and go but they usually come back around after a while so hold on and you’ll be ready with Designer Depot and Basics Bundle 1, 2 and maybe 3. How’s that for blatant advertising.
